It seems that every planet humanity visits has the same minerals and the same native wildlife and the same poisonous fog. My first thought is that I'd like to see greater variety from game to game.

Meteor showers: Have a series of turns see several dozen meteors hit the planet, wiping out whatever improvements (and units) the impacted tiles had. Or, on a larger scale, ice ages, dust bowls, and floods that eat up some land. This would change the output of the affected tiles, sometimes rendering improvements useless. Caverns opening up and swallowing whatever is on nearby tiles.Īctual seasonal changes: The map tiles change as the land temperatures increase and decrease with the seasons. Tectonically active land masses: Active volcanoes, earthquakes that change the environment, mountains thrusting up where none existed before. Or releases a long-imprisoned alien behemoth that destroys everything in its path. Or how about this: Landing on the tile changes the tiles around it, or raises a land mass from the ocean, or melts away a portion of the ice caps to reveal more land. Maybe even a portal to another area of the map. Hidden bonus tiles: Specifically, unremarkable tiles that don't reveal their bonus until a player actually lands on that tile. That part of this one is admittedly just being thrown in.

Additionally, maybe a single unique affinity upgrade for the worker unit. I want unit upgrades for the explorers, with different unique effects for every affinity. I also want to return to Civ V and have unique meeting rooms.

I want these to be more than just recolors/reskins. Barre barely gets a pass for his awesome supremacy look. Everyone basically just gets different colored clothes (with a few small details added maybe) and little face attachments. Jama Barre in my opinion was the only good one, due to his supremacy. Why the fuck aren't there floating battleships like the Archangel or Minerva battleships of Gundam Seed/Destiny? (I'm not counting the LEV Destroyer/Tank here, as those are Affinity locked unit, and it has crappy movement as well on top of it.) A floating aircraft carrier would be awesome as well.

We already have the levitation technology. More than just a static image for victories and the little wonder pages. What then, was the bloody POINT of having them be friendly in the first place? I literally had to start killing them just to make sure I would be able to get units to that city to protect it. In the one game I did this in, not only did they do nothing (I even had a siege worm somehow eat a worker) but they made a freak WALL of aliens between two of my cities. If I have blue aliens (completely friendly, if you've never had this) then I want to be able to move units through them, or at least USE them SOMEHOW. (I may enjoy occasional disproportionate retribution.

I only noticed because I happened to glance at them and saw that they didn't have full health.) is war worthy. Having a 12 culture, couple energy, 1 production, and couple science trade partner attacked early in the game (With no warning to top it off. I want to be able able to tell other civs to stop attacking my fucking trade partners. Bridges.maybe have a length limit on them, but I want to be able to get magrail bridges across water. It's beyond annoying to have a situation where ice is blocking off an entire section of ocean and not being able to get to the other side of the land. I want to be able to cut across the lands so that I can open up blocked off trade routes as well as being able to get ships through. Hopefully ones that don't suck.Ĭanals and bridges. I also want to be able to get rid of useless ice that is just blocking waterways. I want to be able to build an island where there was only water before. The current setup only has strategic resources for trade, and let's face it, nobody really wants to give out those things for free.įloating Cities (Which I saw in a different post).Īctual Terraforming. Luxury Resources - The one thing that I legitimately feel like is missing from previous Civ games. MOAR Aliens! - The aliens were a great idea that was honestly pretty well-implemented, but a bigger variety and more danger into mid-game would be good also so that those poor Harmony saps can benefit more from them.

A way to specialize your units would be excellent. Unit Specialization - The current upgrade system is, IMHO, too simplistic, and renders certain units (like Infantry) essentially useless if you have the right resources. More involved Affinity victories - They had a good idea with the current ones, but they could be implemented in a much more immersive manner. Advanced terraforming - I want to turn mountains into plains and raise islands up from the deep!
